Christmastime

This dance is breaking my heart.  This was one of my "instant vision" productions, everything was in my head from set to choreo to costuming......the dance and moves are timed beautifully with the music.  If you've never heard this song here is the link: Michael W. Smith - Christmastime

When I finished this set I must have watched it over and over again a dozen times, I was so excited to perform this and then the fatal error occured.....the dj's system was cutting about 15 seconds off each end of my song.  Gotta love SAM and that damn fade.  Not a good thing when your dance needs to begin six seconds into the song and doesn't end until the very last note is played.

I played it at practice, I couldn't find a resolution to my problem and had to perform it flawed.  I hated doing that.  I put a lot of time into one of my productions...I am EXTREMELY anal when it comes to the details...I want people to feel what I'm feeling when I'm putting something like this together.  So you can understand how extremely disappointed I was that it turned out to be a flop.

I made the decision to modify the set and perform it with DX this Saturday.  I wasn't sure how I felt about using the same dance in both companies but after I gave it some thought I realized that these are my productions, and they don't belong to anyone but me....so I can perform them where ever.

I'm having the same issue with the song with the DX dj as I did with It Girlz, so I'm going to take some time and work on adding some effects at the beginning and the end of my song....one way or another this is going to get seen the way that I see it.  :-D

Overtime

It took me THREE days, but I think I have the routes planned out for my latest dance, "Let It Snow." The next step is coordinating the dances.  This normally takes me the longest to do so I'm grateful that this song is under three minutes long.  I'm doing two styles of dance and the timing of both the moves and the dance itself will be very important if I'm able to pull this off.  This dance will be performed with Dance Xcetera on December 13th @ 7pm slt.

I produced another Christmas dance that will be performed with the "It Girlz N Fellaz" on the 13th @ 1pm slt.  That dance is called "Christmastime" and I'm very excited about that one as well.

If time prevails, I'll produce one more dance.....I hope it does.  :-)

That's all for now...

Calling YOU Out........

What I am about to say I'm only going to say it one time, then I'm done.  I'll never speak of this or you ever again.  It will forever be posted here so you can come back and reflect on it when you begin to feel "stalkerish."

A few questions I'd like to ask, but never want answered.....

1.  Who brought you up to believe that the world revolved around you?
2.  Do you feel it's normal behavior to expect your friends not to be friends with someone you don't like or will not like in the future?
3.  Was I putting off some kind of vibe that made you believe I was "falling" for you?  Really????  Seriously???  *pauses to laugh*

Your unrealistic views on friendship is the reason why we aren't friends anymore.....notice I made no attempt to reconcile?

Now here you are forcing one of our mutual friends to choose.......and this time it's because of your feelings for me.  You'd totally trash your friendship with her because of me.  PATHETIC.  If she cuts you out of her life for good you deserve it.

This is really a damn shame because I really thought you were a great guy....always funny.  That's one hell of a mask you wear.  Ok well this is not worth spending too much time on and I'm at the point that I'd rather go back to creating my dance so i'm going to close this out with this.......

Lets be abundantly clear about this....for all the years I have known you I have never wanted or expected anything more from you than friendship.  Romance and partnering......out of the question cuz ya just didn't do it for me in that way.  Sorry, I figured after all these years you would have known that by now.

So funny.... all I had to do to ensure I would not lose this precious person was to keep my mouth shut and let you do all the work.  *bravo!!*

I hope the good part of you comes back some day because that person is awesome.  And I hope that you find friends that you will appreciate, and learn to respect because that's what friendship is all about.

Your such a dumbass, but I really wish you the best.  Just please don't contact me if that happens.

Bye.

"You know you're truly a pet lover when you mourn them like a human."

Lilbit's Final Resting Place

If you're reading this post, thank you for giving a shit about me, even if you're a hater....you care more than anyone else.  The only people who deserve to read this are those who are reading this now, the rest can go f*ck themselves, I don't do things like this for anyone but me anyway.

Yesterday, this was just another corner in my moms yard.  This is where we laid Lilbit to rest - my mother took my youngest daughter out to find that beautiful angel statue, and they planted flowers in his little garden.  This has been very hard on me.  Lilbit wasn't my pet, he was my boy.....my furkid.  I love too deeply, and I care too much.

Lilbit's Birthday - December 26, 2003

Lilbit is the gift of a planned breeding.  He was the youngest in a litter of three, the second litter for their parents Kare' and Hershey.  His two older siblings, Hansel and Heidi, have loving homes.  I have always assisted in the delivery of all my girls' puppies, and planning for it is as exciting as a human birth.  Everything was planned from the moment of conception til the birth day.  And 24 hours before Kare' gave birth, we were all "on call."  I was out singing karaoke the night my friend called me to tell me it was time.  I stopped in the middle of singing a song and said, "Gotta run folks , my dog is in labor!"  They all knew I was a dog breeder so they totally understood.  That night, after many many hours of labor, my puppies were born.

Lilbit And His Littermates - One Week Old
Hansel (left), Lilbit (center), Heidi (right)

Lilbit's Parents - Kare' and Hershey (6 mos. old)
Kare' (left) is a Black & Tan Long-haired Piebald Dachshund.
Hershey (right) is a Chocolate smooth-haired Piebald Dachshund

On a humorous note, I had hoped out of two planned breedings between Kare' and Hershey I would get at least ONE chocolate piebald puppy.......NO SUCH LUCK.  Out of two litters, (Kare's first litter produced six puppies) every damn one of them was a black and tan piebald.

Kare' still lives with me, she's an old fatty girl now with a cataract in her left eye and she waddles when she walks but still loves to roll around on the floor and outside in the grass and howls when you say "roo roo" to her.  Unfortunately, Hershey passed away in 2005, another permanent ache in my heart.

Lilbit at three weeks old.
Liltbit was diagnosed at three weeks with Mega Esophagus (Mega E) and we were advised by our vet to put him to sleep.  In simple terms, Lilbits throat was much larger than normal was was not able to constrict in order to send food to his belly - he had to eat sitting vertically and his food had to be moist.  If I were to turn him upside down on his head, the food would come out of his belly and roll right out of his mouth - don't worry, I've never actually tried that.  Lilbit had to stay vertical for about 30 minutes to an hour after he ate, in order for his body to digest his food.  Putting him down any sooner than that would put him at extreme risk for aspiration pneumonia, which is a Mega E killer.  No way was I going to put him down because he had special needs.  He was my responsibility, and I was going to take care of him.  And that's what I did, for almost 11 years.  We were lucky, after a few years we were able to feed him like a normal dog for several years, only a few incidents with him losing his food but luckily he never got pneumonia.  We also had to feed him a high calorie diet because he struggled to maintain his weight.  Aside from that, he was a loud, obnoxious, yapping ankle biter who had the cutest howl whenever you said "roo roo" around him.  We taught that to all of our dogs.

My Baby Boy

About three weeks ago, Lilbit developed a cough that at first was manageable with medication.  When it didn't get better, we knew after all these years the Mega E finally reared it's ugly head, and I was helpless.  He stopped eating about four days ago but because he was still getting up, walking around and drinking water, I didn't have the heart to put him down.  He got up and drank water three hours before he died, and I made sure I was in his sight, after all I was the first human he ever saw, and I wanted to be the last.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of August 2, 2014.

My heart is broken.

Dance Xcetera - Pop Danthology 2013

Dance Xcetera's debut performance of this song was on June 20, 2014 at The Empire Room.  Our performance received very good reviews despite a mechanical error in the beginning.  It was liked so much that we were asked to perform it again on July 5, 2014 at The Paramount Theatre.  In order to do this we  had to completely modify the dance.  The Paramount's stage is much smaller than The Empire Room so modifications had to be made to the set - which were actually 5 sets in one, as well as a new set of choreo moves.  The photos below are of the set modified to fit the Paramount stage.

When Wild told me we were asked to perform at the Empire Room, I was really excited.  This was it, Dance Xcetera was making a debut.  I knew right away we should do a mash up, but I wasn't sure if Wild would like that.  Not only did she love it, she took off with it...."we can do this, and this, and have this....."  We were both so excited and it was hilarious.  I had an idea for three songs I thought would be great together, but we didn't have time to find someone who could blend them into a single dance so I went on youtube and did a search for mashups.  And there, staring at me was Pop Danthology 2013.  (the YouTube video)

If you didn't view the song video, I'll explain it here.  Pop Danthology 2013 is a mashup of 68 songs that were popular in 2013.  This was going to be our "wow" factor.  And this is the part where I get totally stupid.  The original set for this song included 11 separate sets, all set to appear and fade away at certain times.  We were on a deadline and Wild was getting nervous, and I added, adjusted, and readjusted scripts, too many scripts to get this thing to work and in the end it was a total bust.  I don't think the scripts could handle all the commands and some of the prim were not fading.  So we had a meeting and it was decided to cut it down to five sets only, and two of them were not danceable sets.  I don't think this will ever get filmed so enjoy my pics!

NOTE: Click on the pics to enlarge :)

This was considered "Set One." It started off as a solid black screen and every second a photo of a male or female silhouette in a dance pose would appear and disappear.  When Pop Danthology is mentioned in the song, this showed up just before it faded to the second set.

The Piano Set.  The black and white music notes on the left and the right were originally above the stage.  Thirty-three seconds into the song, those music notes came down very slowly with a dancer posed on each one of them.  They were also made with glitter, so they sparkled too.

This one is the Red Set.  Out of all 11 sets that I built, the dancers like this one the best.  The top photo was taken at midnight and the bottom at midday.  There are red, pink, and white sparkles floating around.  The bottom half of the platforms sparkled too.  I love the color combination here and most likely will use it again.

This was the last danceable set.  I called it the "JT" set, short for Justin Timberlake.  This set appeared at the point in the song where Justin Timberlake sings.  This set included some cool gold glitter flashing around but I don't think I have them turned on in this pic.

That's pretty much it.  I'm hoping one day a fade script will be able to take a beating, and I can do the song with all 11 sets.  I was really happy, these sets combined with our awesome costumes - I'm wearing an orange glittery dress with really loud obnoxious glitter - they were mesh dresses and they were shiny, with the glitter on top I felt like we were performing in Vegas!  I love that dress and plan on wearing it again too.....we could color them any way we wanted so each girl wore a different color...pretty cool.  :-)

Touring The Greenhouse

I was sitting around tonight - taking a very much needed break from my busy SL, and enjoyed the views from my home.  For those of you who read my last blog, you saw the outside, now I'm going to show you the inside.

I had the hardest time looking for a house for me.  My goal was to find something with an open feel to it, but most of the houses that I looked at for the size of my land just weren't cutting it.  That's when I found....the greenhouse.

Why not?  This is SL, and the idea of refurbishing something like a greenhouse into a home seemed like a really good idea.  And I'm glad I did it because I absolutely love it!  So here's the quick tour....click on any of the photos to enlarge them, and hit the "x" in the right hand corner when you are done.  :-)

To start, this is the greenhouse, so it will give you an idea how much space I am working with.

The Greenhouse

Kitchen

First, I have to warn you that one of my favorite colors is light blue, and my house is totally blue.  The kitchen is no exception.  Thanks to my daughter Cherry, I have a lovely kitchen from LAQ Décor, as a matter of fact with the exception of the furniture on the patio, the vanity, dresser and pose stand, all my furniture is from LAQ......Winter DiPrima is an excellent builder!  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LAQ%20Decor/68/62/34.  I love this photo, something about it is just cozy to me.  :-D

Living Room

The living room....yes it's tiny but it's mostly just me, my daughters have their own homes.  Okay so my tv isn't so large that it covers an entire wall like I've seen in some houses, but I zoom in anyway so it really doesn't make a difference how big it is.  When Cherry rezzed this out for me the first thing I thought was I just had to put a tv in the middle of it.

Bedroom

The bedroom area.  Plenty of room for a dresser and a vanity, as well as....a pose stand (the table with candles that doesn't go with the room. LOL)  I think that is the best looking pose stand I have ever seen, and trust me I have seen tons of them.  I keep it out permanently and I use it every day for dressing.

Patio

The patio.  A great place to sit back and relax, listen to the sounds of the birds, frogs, or crickets....depending on what time of the day you are visiting and watch the birds and butterflies flying around.

I tried to create a very tranquil atmosphere for me and I think I succeeded.  It will be a very long time before I ever change this place.  The best part about it is when you are here, you would never know that the areas around my land totally suck.  :-)

So that's it....that's a tour of my home.  Hope you enjoyed it!!

Honestly, I swear, this is THE LAST move for me!

It was meant to be, that I find my old parcel still available from my whole month move away from it.  When my friend Misty gave up her sim, she referred me to a friend of hers that rents land and I got a great deal on an 1/8th of a parcel....1875 prim that was within my price range.  The only downfall, it's not the best looking sim......

The first time I was there I didn't do much as far as decorating, I put out a flat prim and textured it with grass, stuck out two trees and my log cabin and a privacy screen.  Then I moved away to share a sim with a friend and that didn't work out, so here I am again.  I really didn't have much time to browse around for something better, and when I did run a search nothing came up that was as good as this.  The sim owner is very nice too, so coming back just felt right.  Because of my recent inspirations in SL, I decided this was my home, and I was going to make the best of it.  *smiles*

This....is a greenhouse.  I have searched for a very long time for the perfect little house for just me, and I couldn't find anything that inspired me, until I saw this greenhouse.  Open and full of windows, I have a kitchen, small dining area, living area with a tv and a bedroom area, all one room.  I would actually consider the sitting area in the photo my living room.  LOL!  It's all I need for just me.  Like the peacock?  He has a mate running around somewhere as well.  There are also six hummingbirds, a canary and 1 swallow that fly around this area.....and of course there's lot's of great sounds!

Here's another sorta room.......

My daughters Cheeky and Cherry's room.  No they are not children, they are adults with their own homes.  I am not a bad mom.  :-D

So anyway, I took my land and completely transformed it into my own little paradise, and I'm totally pleased with it.  So let me give you the tour........

The land is 8192m2 with 1875 prims and it's rectangular.  To the right is my house up on a hill.  There is a path sloping down to open up on the beach.

This is the path from my house to the beach.  There is a cardinal and a blue jay that fly around.  On the left side middle is a family of deer and of course at the bottom is a weasel.

The beach.....a tiki bar, greedy table, lounge chairs, and all sorts of animals.....

I used a program called "Land Map" Which creates a sculpt in the shape of your land so that you can use the textures that you want.  The sim that I'm on has a horrible grass texture and the elevation of it is really off, so Land Map was perfect for me.

When all was said and done, I did one more thing.....

My dance studio with a build area for my dance sets.  :-)

I did all of this, with only 1875 prim, and I have 561 left over.  I did pretty good.  This is it folks, I AM NOT moving again....unless I don't have a choice, like the sim is going away or something.  ;-D

Although unexpected, I really enjoyed decorating.  Now that it's all done..time to start working on the dance routine for my cheer video, I'll be writing about that later on.

Until then....

Well here I am again....

It's been awhile since I've written anything here, and the time has come to start doing it again so here goes. I spent the past hour reading over my old posts and laughing about how silly I was back then. SL had a different meaning for me then, and it does now. So I'm going to be posting all sorts of crap here. So sit back and enjoy.
That being said, my first post back is about.....CLOTHES! I'm just going to have to blog about cute stuff, but I'm not going to be an avid blogger like say..my daughter Cherry. This is just something I wanted to share, and I just may share more...who knows. Here goes!
