Lavoxy Uriza - Second Life

I met Lavoxy while dj'ing at a club called Genesis. She was a dj there as well, who eventually became part owner of the business. She was a kick ass dj, and music surrounded her real life as well. When I left that club, I lost touch with the wonderful group of ladies who tried to pick up the pieces and make that club work when the previous manager left, but we all have paths that we chose and ours just went in a different directions. I found out last night that Lavoxy had a brother serving in Iraq that was killed, and the pain for her was too much to bear. She ended her own life as a result. This is the second time I have experienced a loss like this in game, and the feeling of helplessness is greater than if you crossed paths with that person in real life, because the degree of how much you know someone isn't as great as you would if they were sitting right in front of you. My friends and I have exchanged numbers and such and have told our families who to contact if something like this happened to any of us, because the simple reality of it is that most of the time, our friends in game are not crossing that line into our real life....they know us and we know them, but that never goes beyond ourselves into our family life. And when things like this happen, it's always a reality check in this virtual world, that there are people with feelings behind the avatars, and real life is never far from them.

My relationship with Lavoxy was strictly business, but she was my contact - she was on my friends list. Our paths crossed, and I am very sad for the loss of this beautiful person. My heartfelt sympathies go out to her family, and I pray that God gives them strength during this very difficult time.

Godspeed Lavoxy, may you finally find the peace that you have been searching for.

Svarga

So Blade and I visited a sim named Svarga. It was phenominal! On Svarga, they are running a beta test to produce artifical life there. Below is a better explanation, taken from the notecard you receive when you get there:

Nearly all of the plant-life in this area of the sim is part of a beta test for a fully functional artificial ecology system for Second Life.
Everything is actually growing and replicating by itself!
------Sometimes you might come here and see nothing ! This could be because I'm testing the system and maybe it's been re-started. Come back in a few hours if that is the case.------
The system comprises...
- Clouds: Scripted clouds roam the sim and occasionally rain onto the ground below. The plant-life underneath soaks up water from the cloud, the amount is determined by angle and distance.
-SunThe SL sun provides energy for growth, it's measured by its position and the amount of SL cloud density.
- Bees.Little tiny scripted bees fly between fertile flowers

Its a cool place to visit, I had a blast. My friend Misty and her guy Tux joined us as well, and we played drums and chatted in an area where your conversation is turned into music.

There is an oracle there that will tell you your future. You pay $25L and you get a notecard, maybe two. This is what mine said:

"InfluenceOffering fortunate.Persevere.Marriage is fortunate." *smiles*

It's a very nice place to visit, you definitely don't want to miss this in your SL travels!!
